This is definitely one of the most alien landscapes I've ever visited; A giant crater containing a desert tundra and four volcanoes.
To get to the viewpoint for sunrise, you need to get up at around 03:00. We decided to get up a bit earlier to see what the sky was like.
Sadly, due to it being rainy season, it was very cloudy. Every now and again, we (myself and Fran) got a break in the clouds and it was nice to see the stars peeking through.
Although there was no Milky Way, I quite enjoy the layers created in this photo.
