Five Minutes of Heaven

Poster for Five Minutes of Heaven

I've just finished watching Five Minutes of Heaven, a BBC drama about The Troubles and the repercussions thereof.

I have to say, it was very good. It didn't take one side or the other, and the two main stars, Liam Neeson and James Nesbit played 'opposite' roles than you'd expect (Protestant vs Catholic sense).

The first half is centred around the troubles in 1975 when Liam Neeson's character kills Nesbitt's brother. Coincidently, one of Neeson's cohorts was played by another Conor MacNeill, who I know through the wonders of Facebook and sharing a name.

The second half is set in the present day and is about the difficult of our two stars meeting each other and moving on.

This might not be for everyone, and I probably felt it more than most having grown up in Belfast during the troubles, but I would still recommend giving it a viewing.
